# Role of the token

## How the token links to the ChatX access cards

It's important that at token is tighly linked to the utility, and at ChatX we think about that. Although our contracts will be deployed on different chains (Mainnet & Base) our DAPP tightly links both in two ways: discounts and revenue sharing.

### 👛Discount tiers

We will have three token tiers that provide discounts on the protocol fee (see [Cardomics](/chatx/access-cards/cardomics.md)). Therefore, if you are a frequent trader and hold ChatX you can benefit from cheaper trades.

* 🥉Bronze, 5% discount
* 🥈Silver, 10% discount
* 🏅Gold, 20% discount

**Note**, the tiers are not active yet but the code is already integrated in the smart contract and will be released according to our roadmap. The discount % are therefore still subject to change.

### 💰Revenue sharing

1% of each access card transaction (buy or sell) goes to revenue sharing. The more chatX tokens you hold the more revenue you receive!
